I've been looking for lead-free serveware. Love the light stain and unglazed bottom for a different look. I used them straight away and enjoyed filling them with delicious dishes. Smaller is definitely better for veggies or a small salad. It's quite small but still works for our family of 4. The big one is perfect. I would like an even larger size for whole turkeys or chickens. Everything was packed very well. I got a set of dishes and a couple of mugs delivered today and I can't wait.
