Okay, let's get to the details. I've included some good photos of what I think the mocha looks like. I bought this moka pot specifically because I wanted one made of stainless steel with a nice handle. It appears to be welded to the mocha pot itself. I don't care about tack welding so that the handle could detach from the mocha pot. I will update when that happens. Overall, the mocha pot itself appears to be really good 1/18 gauge 304 stainless steel construction with one of the thickest rubber pads I've seen on a mocha. I put a penny next to the rubber pad so you can see the thickness of the rubber pad for yourself. Close-up of the handle, hinge on the lid and the base of the moka pot itself. If you're considering whether to go for a six or eight cup if you're hosting more than one person, I'd recommend the eight cup version to buy.
