Review on Harbor Breeze Hydra 70 Inch Brushed Nickel Indoor Ceiling Fan: Light, Remote Control, and 8-Blade Power Combination by Breanna Homack

For its purpose of moving air, this is the best ceiling fan I have ever had. Our daughter installed the same fan in her living room. with the bottom stem and I was very impressed with the amount of air and how it spreads out from the fan area. For our house with a 10 foot ceiling I bought a 12 inch floor shaft and the air movement at any speed is very good. . With a thermostat at 80-81 and this fan at speed 2-3 I'm quite comfortable. The fan is very quiet, at level 6 I only hear a pleasant hum instead of clear wind noise. This fan has 6 usable speeds instead of 1 like our other fans. They don't do anything on the low end, weak on the mid-end and the high end is so strong and loud that we rarely get to use it. This fan is so handy that I ordered another one for our bedroom. The light is dimmable, although another review might say that's not the case. But as others have said, there are two problems with LED lighting. It is not very bright and has a yellowish tint. I don't mind low light as I don't want it to overwhelm the brightness of a flat screen. I haven't checked but if there is an option to replace it with a brighter/whiter light I would change it. The board is good and comfortable. When you press the +/- buttons, a row of blue lights will illuminate at the top to show what speed you are currently at. There are also buttons for 2/4/8 hour timer functions and a slide switch to change fan direction for summer/winter. A few other features that I don't see in other reviews: 1. There is a delayed light off button. You press the button and after 1 minute the light goes off. Good for going to bed or leaving the house to avoid walking in the dark. 2. There is a "security button" to give the impression that the house is busy while you are away. The light will be on for 5-20 minutes, then off for 60 minutes, then on for 5-20 minutes until you change the function. Great feature. 3. There is another button to create variable/natural breeze feeling. Imagine you want to relax in an armchair or on a sofa. Press the button and the fan speed will increase/decrease, simulating an outdoor breeze. Overall very happy with the performance and added nice features that other fans don't have. If I run into any problems or find a way to change the light I'll update this review.
