Ordered white color but got black block. It turned out that it too had been opened earlier. Also, I installed it and it works perfectly. I'd add that the main base plate, which mounts to the wall, is a bit flimsy due to its segmented design, and I really wouldn't trust it for a TV heavier than 30 pounds or so.
