bought this stool so my little old dog can use it to climb onto my bed + I can stand on it to get to the top shelf of my closet! the steps are quite narrow so unfortunately my dog couldn't use them (maybe they were too old and a bit dull but ok), the wood was too smooth for her! So I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for something for that purpose! I can stand on it quite comfortably and weigh almost 200 pounds. The steps are just narrow as I said so it feels a bit sketchy to stand on, not because I think they will break from the weight but just because I think they might tip over! Overall a decent stool, just wish it would work for what I bought it for! Construction went well! I had to ask my friend to help me and it took quite a while but it wasn't too hard! Price wise it seems a bit expensive but wasn't terrible compared to other options + actually nice to look at and I don't feel like I need to hide it in a closet or anything when not in use
