I'm a tough guy and I have to watch what I step on. This stool is VERY durable and I have no problem using it. It took a little while to assemble and is unfinished but polished. If you don't like the natural look, you can paint or varnish it. It is also unpainted so can be colored with liquids. The pads on the bottom are also nice because they slide across our kitchen so you can easily move your feet.

First, the side panels are already assembled when they arrive. (see picture) The side panels with the wooden dowel hole were mounted from the outside, so I couldn't insert the dowels (see 2nd photo). As I screwed the screws through the top step, I barely started screwing them in when the plastic molly made inside the hole breaks out so you can't tighten it anymore. I don't want to return it assuming they are all made that way. So I'm going to use two wood screws through the top next to the…

I like this ladder. I bought this to keep in my closet so I can reach the top shelves and it serves that purpose well. All holes are drilled and aligned correctly. As advertised, the extra screws/pins for assembly were included. Assembly required some upper body strength and manual dexterity, but I was able to put it together easily with the tools provided. bought this stool so my little old dog can use it to climb onto my bed + I can stand on it to get to the top shelf of my closet! the steps are quite narrow so unfortunately my dog couldn't use them (maybe they were too old and a bit dull but ok), the wood was too smooth for her! I have absolutely nothing to complain about with this stool! My dog is getting a little older so he's worried about hip arthritis and I just put about 6 inches of topper on my mattress so we had to put a leg up. And sorry, I don't care how those tiny dog stools look. This matched my bedroom decor well and its large frame was easier to maneuver than a small staircase.
