Review on ๐Ÿ๏ธ Ducati 899/1199 Panigale Fender Eliminator Kit by New Rage Cycles: A Perfect Match for an Aggressive Look by Joe Bailey

Revainrating 3 out of 5

So first let me say that I love the look of the lights and they really deliver.

So first let me say I like the look of the headlights and they really give the bike a clean look that no other fender cleaner can match. It was installed on the 899. Only three stars for three reasons! NRK is listening! First of all, your instructions page allows for a bit of guesswork and is actually quite vague, especially when the images are black and white. Secondly, I HATE the license plate holder, the oval NRC in the middle makes it so annoying to tighten the bolts when holding your passenger footpegs, there is no place to work as is and now all I can do is use my Allen key away! Oh wait! The machined holes you put the screws in through the license plate are too small to go through the license plate which makes you wonder if you are doing it right combined with the fact that the instructions are crap and the pictures suck; confuses me a lot. I had to put the screws through the license plate and if it was made out of some other harder metal the screws would be striped. Finally, the angle at which the device meets the plastic under the taillight isn't completely flush, meaning it leaves a gap and most of the tape doesn't make contact with the bike's plastic. I would like to say that less than 25% of the tape actually came into contact with the plastic under the taillight during installation. This again made me think I had it installed incorrectly and also made me feel like it wasn't going to be the longest lasting. The Torx screw and nut provide enough support that they're not weak in any way, but that's beside the point; The device is angled to allow the tape to stick to the end! Maybe I was just unlucky and got a bad plate, or maybe my block wasn't rotated properly, I don't know but I doubt it. So far I'm happy with the purchase, it's just been agony! It really should have been a very easy install, but the instructions should have been clearer, the holes in the license plate should be big enough for a damn screw to fit through, and I want the corner of the unit where the double sided tape meets the plastic on Bike must be flush and taped with all the tape.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • weak
