Defective tubes with perfect standard product

Pros: These are six containers of exactly what you would expect from a standard cyanoacrylate glue (aka Super Glue, Crazy Glue, Super Glue, 404 Speed Dial and many more). other names which I will refer to as "CA" although this name is mainly associated with industrial connections). It's also one of the lowest prices per gram/ounce of CA glue eligible for Prime shipping. Normal: This means "standard" CA means (for those few who don't already know) * low viscosity until it sets (it flows easier than almost any other glue you're likely to work with at home) * fast , powerfully clinging to skin (and, if you're really careless, eyes, lungs and other mucous membranes) * a not inconsiderable amount of invisible, annoying fumes - especially when you're very close or looking directly at what you are stick *very strong adhesion to hard surfaces *very low shear strength (if you're applying to something flexible, very few flexes will easily break the adhesive) *dangerous reactions with cotton and baking soda (check wikipedia or google it to find out why anyone the latter mixes :-P) Potential heat release enough to start a fire *surprisingly good wound closure I AM NOT A DOCTOR, YOUR RESULTS MAY VARY, DO N DO NOT TREAT SERIOUS WOUNDS, ALL OTHER POSSIBLE DISCLAIMER etc) if you understand that *do not stick between pieces of skin* but instead keep the hole closed and tape on top to keep the skin in place after drying a "sleeve" of glue *over* your epidermis, and there is actually no glue *within* the wound; As a result, I had a spectacular, deep wound from my neglect to sharpen my knife, which healed completely in less than a week - sooner than my usual small, patched cuts (btw, I had to reapply a little every day to keep it from forming to prevent / propagation of cracks in the adhesive). The Bad: The tubes are metal, which fatigues very easily, and the cap screws onto the nozzle in the same direction that the nozzle screws onto the tube. This caused most of my tubes to leak glue around an accidentally loose nozzle base (you have to unscrew it once to pierce the seal, and ironically --- since the container and nozzle have to touch the glue without sticking , you can't glue it in place by yourself); this is exacerbated by the tendency of some cured adhesives to physically jam the cap, requiring more force to loosen than unscrewing the cap and nozzle tip combination. Other leaks tend to occur across the entire surface of the pipe, where too many bends cause metal fatigue and fracture. Once the tube was even cut in half while being stored in a mug with other stationery (thankfully the glue inside had already set due to other tiny cracks in the tube, so disaster was averted)! I've found that two sheets of standard office copy paper, folded and taped/stapled around the tube in an unbreakable container, is usually sufficient to seal the leaked adhesive before it seeps in and ruins everything else. So when you're paying a lot less than average for it (as is the case with this product), only the container can really differ. In this case you don't pay a "brand tax" but you also don't get the more reliable/safer container that most well advertised brands have. Since you have six lamps to limit loss if one (or more) fails, I think some sensible precautions and anticipating potential problems are enough for this to still be a reasonable value overall.

Pros
  • โญ STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS. Clean the tip and put the cap back on immediately after applying the glue. Prolonged exposure to light can cure the adhesive. Store in a cool, dry, dark place.
Cons
  • Unbelievable Price
