Like most reviewers, I didn't want the USB cable dangling under the dash from the new head unit I installed. I didn't want to drill a new hole in the dash, so I used an unused cigarette lighter socket. It had a black plastic ring around the metal part of the cigarette lighter. This plug almost fits on this plastic part. I hot glued it to the plastic and put it back where the cigarette lighter was. Looks like he should have been there. Works perfectly.
