This is a vent: Air pump accessories
Basically works like any other vent. Nothing outstanding. All I can say is that I've never had to use check valves before buying one. The tank I placed them on is significantly higher off the ground, lower than usual, and I also bought a very cheap air pump for them. The end result is that the first time I turned the pump off, I got the hose back on to the pump. If you use this check valve, get it. If you already have the correct airline installation. No better or worse than any other air stone.
