Review on 🎮 4X Control Universal Replacement SmartZone Controller by Aaron Collins

Two years ago I had to replace the oven and get a two stage unit with 'single stage compatibility' as my old Honeywell EMM3 zone panel required. During a one-bit negative cold snap, the oven began to trip its protection limit circuitry (the second stage ran too long for one zone). Replaced Honeywell with Ecojay and all issues have been resolved. Between the supply air temperature sensor and "hold in first stage when multiple zones don't need heat” the firing performance is at a new level. The temperatures in the zones are accurate and couldn't be happier. The device is equipped with many LEDs that make every technology freak smile. More importantly, diagnostics are trivial because you know in real time exactly what signals the controller is receiving and which it is sending. The only room for improvement would be adding discrete connections to control the humidifier and A/C contactor. With a bit of care, you can connect two 18ga wires to the existing terminals (two W1 for oven + humidifier and two Y1 for oven + air conditioner), but that's not optimal. It is not possible to get the three required common wires into one spring clip. I installed an external terminal block to connect secondary connections. When the Ecojay intelligently controls the humidifier (only turning on when the supply air is at the right temperature), the unit gets a whole lot better. Outstanding technical solutions at a reasonable price and of the highest quality.
