I connected this to my RV so it could charge my laptop from a 12v system without having to connect the RV to shore power. This is a decent product and a good price. But I have a comment. The center can shift, shorting out the positive and negative wires behind the plate and damaging the entire system. This happened to me after just a few weeks of use. Be sure to shield your connections with more duct tape than usual. Many people would consider this a "spiritual" moment, but it's not always necessary because the center should NOT be curled!
