, I am a 23 year old engineer team leader and builder. You can find us at element14.com and Raising Awesome on YouTube. I was neither paid nor given for this review. The PLA filament worked just like any other filament I've used before. The specs were a little larger in diameter, but I chalk it up to being really honest about a real change in their manufacturing facility. However, I recorded the first foot and it was within +/- 0.02 of the advertised +/- 0.05mm. The price was $1 cheaper than the regular brand I buy but gave a lot more value. The first interesting thing is that they label their coil with the necessary parameters that they need to apply to your software for a successful build, such as: B. extruder temperature and bed temperature. It also shows the remaining length and weight of the thread on the sides with sight holes for measuring. The most important thing is the free building space they offer. I've used glass with glue stick, aluminum with tape, and aluminum with Kapton® tape and hairspray. Aluminum with masking tape works very well. However, the building space they offer blows away others. This provides a good grip and I don't have to destroy the surface or part to remove it. Applying Kapton® tape is cumbersome (you do it with soapy water like car window tint) and it takes a lot of time. it is bubble free. In addition, Kapton® is so sticky that you can easily tear it off by tearing off a piece. The build surface that comes with this thread won't crack and stays stronger than painter's tape. But you can quickly remove it from the surface without damaging your part like you risk with Kapton. Applying the build surface to the print bed takes seconds. You also don't have to worry about bubbles blowing out underneath like you do with Kapton®. You just have to be careful to keep it straight - not that it will affect your physique - it will only bother you if you plant it crooked. In general, filament is worth the money compared to other brands. As long as they offer free building space - even for an extra dollar I would go with them. - Walnut by Raising Awesome on YouTube.com.
