Excellent children's radios at reasonable prices! Unfortunately not properly designed, there is a risk of burns! The problem is that the contact spring on the positive side of the battery doesn't line up with the pad on the circuit board. After a few falls from children, the spring rubbed on the insulation near the contact pad and connected the battery positive terminal directly to the battery negative terminal. This will short circuit and overheat the batteries. I repaired mine by removing the part of the spring that was dangling from the pad. Now the entire spring touches the pad. I also put a small piece of tape over the open negative on the circuit board.
