Review on ☕ Willow & Everett 1 Gallon Cold Brew Coffee Maker - Glass Pitcher with Stainless Steel Spout and Removable Filter for Iced Tea and Coffee by Kim Good

Good idea, TERRIBLE design and finish, especially the filter

I bought this stone gallon style cold drink can as it is the most popular cold drink dispensing system at Revain. I've tried the toddy system before, and then the OXO cold brew system, so this is by no means my first experience with a home cold brew system. Upon receipt of the product the packaging seemed fairly secure but upon opening the box I could see that the filter had been crushed inside the tin (just like the photos attached). The filter was very difficult to remove and once removed it was folded and dented and absolutely impossible to put back in the can. I contacted the seller and they sent a new filter which was great customer service. I got a new filter, put it in a jar and it fit perfectly. I poured 13 ounces of the coarsest coffee into a Cuisinart grinder (setting 18), filled a gallon jar and placed in the fridge to steep for 2-3 days. On the morning of the second day after I opened my fridge a HUGE puddle of coffee spilled onto the groceries and soaked most of what I had in the fridge with Tanzanian cold beer which took over 2 hours to completely clear. I had no choice but to remove the glass and drain the contents into 3 separate containers (after only 2 days). Upon inspection I noticed that the hex bolt holding the nozzle was definitely loose in the can and I had to use a small wrench to gently tighten the bolt. from the "concentrate" I get from Toddy and there was definitely a layer of coffee grounds on the bottom of the containers I used even though I used the coarsest setting on my grinder. Give this product one more try before you give it up entirely, so this morning I again ground 13 ounces of my favorite beans on the coarsest setting and loaded the filter, which was still intact and appeared to be in good condition from the previous brew. But no matter what I did, the filter was NOT put back into the jar and that was the last straw for me. if you don't remember to check the tightness of the hex nut.
