Review on πŸ‘ Dorman 48011 PCV Hose: Reliable and Efficient Solution by Luis Thompson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Repaired the PCV hose on my 2003 Ford Explorer Sport 4L V6

Check engine light gave error codes P0171 and P0174, lean mixture, bank 1 and bank 2. Have tried the usual repairs: air filter clean - ground Clean the Flow sensor with air and then replace it. Replace the fuel filter, and then check the fuel pressure. No help. After relocating the radiator hose to the other side of the oil filler neck, I inspected the PVC hose in the intake manifold. I noticed that the front rubber knee was not round but sunken and wrinkled what looked like a small hole in the crease. I took a chance with this Dorman elbow kit and found that the larger elbow fit perfectly. The longer part of the knee should point towards the back of the car. I used the included spring clamp to hold the long side of the elbow against the plastic pipe, but I used a #12 SAE hose clamp on the short side because the space available made it difficult to open the spring clamp. (Although I could probably do it with a pair of curved needle nose pliers.) I also smeared some silicone grease on both plastic mating surfaces to make it easier to seat the hose before attaching it. I cleaned the test engine with no problems.
