Quality fabric but fit and fit leaves something to be desired

The main fabric for the seat cover feels very strong and the front pockets are handy for small items (anything bulky just puts pressure on the back of your seat made of legs). I love the brown color and honestly the only reason I bought this seat cover is to try and match my truck's brown interior until I can afford to have the seat professionally restored. I use this seat cover in a 1978 F-150 and although the cover is the perfect length and width for the base of my seats, it is very short in the back and you can see about 6 inches of stretchy black fabric along the top of the seat. If you have a headrest, maybe keeps it in place? That being said, there's nothing to keep the stretchy fabric up if you don't have headrests, and just sitting and getting in and out of the car pulls the entire cover down. I had to make a strap that attaches from the top of the seat to the floor to hold it in place. Another complaint I have with this case is the straps and hooks used to hold the case in place - they are an absolute joke. The straps are not so big, wide fabric, as in the photo (and even on the box); These are just thin strips of rubber. Not a big deal really, except they're too short to clip at the bottom and there's nothing to clip the side straps to. Hooks don't work either. The end of the hook that closes is fine, but the other side just slips off the elastics. I had to tie the straps with pieces of rope and if I hadn't just spent an hour putting the cover on I would have taken it off and sewn the correct straps onto it. You will also need straps that connect from top to bottom where the seat belts hold your back. The elastic part doesn't hold it up by itself. I know it's a 'universal' cover and don't expect it to fit my seat perfectly. However, I expect it to be adjustable enough to stay in my seat without all the extra work I had to put into it. This could have been a really great seat cover if the designers had just added more attachment straps in key places and provided hooks that actually worked. A higher back would be nice too. It works quite well with my modifications, but I don't recommend it for older trucks unless you're willing to make those modifications.
