Review on ๐Ÿ”ฅ Copper Copper Heatsink with Silicone Thermal Innovation by John Brouillard

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great radiator, one of my best purchases!

To be honest I wasn't expecting much when I ordered these for my NVMe SSDs but I was blown away by their performance. I bought these to cool the SSDs in my laptop as they were thermally throttled under heavy load and I noticed a noticeable slowdown when the controller temp crossed the 80C mark. The laptop is too thin for anything else so I figured these copper heatsinks would help, they exceeded all expectations! Each heatsink comes in a sealed plastic case with instructions, two non-conductive silicone thermal pads (0.5mm and 1.0mm), SSD cleaning wipes, and three rubber bands to secure the heatsink to the drive. I ended up not using rubber bands and using Kapton tape instead because my NVMe drives are single sided and the laptop is very thin. I wanted heatsink + thermal pad (0.5mm) + washer (single sided) to be as thin as possible. In terms of performance, my drives have never exceeded 58C on NAND and 75C on the controller. My temperature before installing the heatsinks was 70C on the NAND and 89C on the controller. My drives no longer have an overheating throttle and will easily handle any job I throw at them, no matter how heavy the workload. I find that adding these heatsinks has completely eliminated thermal throttling from my NVMe drives and improved my system's performance. Anyone looking for a low profile and efficient NVMe thermal throttling solution should buy these heatsinks. They're well made, affordable, easy to install, and deliver immediate, noticeable results in lowering temperatures on your NVMe drives. My experience has shown me that they offer phenomenal performance and value for money. So if you have a laptop with NVMe drives that are choking, buy this heatsink!
