I say decent because the hole saw doesn't have enough tooth space/profile to cut thicker materials. I was trying to drill two pieces of softwood 2x8 (actual thickness 1-1/2 inch) on a 1hp drill press. 8 inch cutout. I ended up having to drill through pilot holes and then just saw holes on either side after a much larger handle. It works great with thinner materials like 1/2" plywood and 1/16" aluminum.
