it was very difficult to register with Optimum
pros: - fair price and modem arrived in the box; wrapped up; clean; with power cord and CAT5 cable - turns on quickly and glows green - works exactly like the identical modem it replaced. They claimed that the modem may have previously belonged to someone else and may still be registered with them. I had to physically bring my new and old modem to their store to have them confirm that the labels had not been tampered with and that the modem was not owned by anyone - it took 1.5 hours in New Jersey on January 4th. It was a nightmare, but they finally registered the modem
