I am satisfied with the stairs. You are on the small side. However, they are well made. I'm glad it's a real tree. I have a high bed and my servant used a box that I put next to my bed, but he still has ways of jumping to get onto the box and then onto the bed. Now he has arthritis and I know he's in pain. I didn't like the other pet ladders because they were plastic and slipped too often. Trust me I have tried many times to help my dog. When I found this ladder I was thrilled. And it didn't help when the box arrived, it shows the cat walking up and down the stairs, I thought I made a big mistake. These pet ladders from Trixie are perfect for him. They were easy to put together. It took 5 minutes. I just wish they were bigger. I would have happily paid more money to find the same ladder, only bigger. Update I was going to post this update a few months ago but I had a lot of stuff. I am no longer satisfied with these ladders! The back doesn't hold up! He's too short. After further research I see that they are too expensive and regret the purchase!
