Review on BOSS Audio AR4000D Car Amplifier - 4000W, 1 Ohm Stable, Digital, Monoblock, Mosfet Power Supply, Ideal for Car Subwoofers by Jeffrey Dunn

As you read this review, the first thing to note is NO 4000 watt amp. I recently bought this amp and tested it on my amp dyno and also checked it extensively. Here's what I found. The amp itself has a really cool heatsink, it looks way better than most amps that cost a lot more. It's aluminum and appears to have a great fit and finish. It has RCA inputs and outputs and includes a bass console and cables. Also includes extra fuses and mounting hardware. And even a Boss decal for your car! I've been interested in the actual power output of this amp for a long time. Logic tells us that an amp with (3) 40A fuses cannot deliver 4000W of output power. In an ideal world with an input voltage of 15 volts and 100% efficiency, that's only 1800 watts. The world isn't perfect, no amplifier is 100% efficient, and most people can't deliver 15 volts continuous input. However, let's look at the true measurements taken by my SMD/D'Amore Engineering AD-1 Amp Dyno (all RMS at 40Hz): 4 ohms certified (up to 1% THD) - 433W at 14.25 V 2 ohms certified (up to 1% THD) - 710W @ 14.04V, 1 ohm, certified (up to 1% THD) - 908W, 13.84V, 1 ohm, uncertified (up to limit) - 1175W, 13.47V, 1ohm dynamic (simulated subwoofer) - 1425W 13.79V full YouTube video review on my BigDWiz channel. The build quality/design is very good, but I wish manufacturers would stop using inflated "MAX" ratings. The power this amp puts out for the price makes it a great deal for those just getting into aftermarket car audio or for those who want to get some noise without investing a lot of money. Can't comment on long-term reliability and have to look at the "6 year online retailer platinum warranty" as Revain mentions. If this is true, how can you be wrong?
