I don't write many reviews for Revain, but this magnetic connector is amazing. I brewed Stick, Mig and Tig for years and finally bought it because I heard it was worth it. Wow! I can't believe I haven't used this in years. The copper substrate does 3 things. First, it provides a backing material for welding holes and gaps - so much nicer that trying to weld gaps out of thin sheet metal without burning through edges and gaps. Second, the copper provides a conductive area to help ensure weld gap continuity. When using a gas torch, it will not spatter, spatter or crack. It connects seamlessly to the edges. I used this tool to join 1/8 inch gaps that look amazing. Third, the copper backing provides a surface to prevent overshooting of welds, which helps reduce grinding and galling. I am shocked at how good this tool is and how I should have bought it many years ago. I'm replacing bottoms on my 1966 Mustang and there's a lot of welding, splitting and grinding to do. I had to share In fact, it's worth the money, no question about it.
