Description of ๐Ÿ”Œ AGK320 Strong Hand Tools - Hole Plug Magnet, Hands-Free Welding with Pivoting Magnetic V-Pad Base, Spring-Loaded Arm & Heat-Dissipating Copper Pad - Length: 5.5

The hands-free tool for fast, high quality hole welds!. The pivoting magnetic v-pad base quickly mounts on curved steel panels. The spring-loaded arm makes it easy to just โ€œplace and weld. โ€. Long arm protects the magnetic base from heat damage. The thick copper pad dissipates heat and wonโ€™t stick to the weld.

Good quality, good for welding equipment and accessories

I recently discovered Strong Hand Tools. I bought this to reinforce some of the holes that I need to seal with a weld. I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but when I play with it, it seems pretty good. I look forward to getting started.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Nothing here

Extra hands!

Used it to cover an incorrectly drilled hole on a project and it was great! The magnets are strong and the spring really holds the copper in place. There's a lot of copper in there to absorb the heat from the MIG without damaging it. Originally I was just going to take a brass chuck and attach a handle, but this was much easier to work with.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Appearance

Well done and very useful

I'm trying to butt weld a new wheel arch to my truck body and was able to blow through thin sheet metal very easily. I'm a bad welder and they totally save my ass when I'm trying to fill holes with a weld. The magnets are strong, the hinge parts are firm with no play, the knurling on the handle is comfortable. It's very well done.

Pros
  • Fits me great
Cons
  • Some difficulty

Ideal for small patches in thin steel

I had a patch about 1" x 2" that I needed for a small rust hole in 22 gauge steel have made. As many of you probably know, thin butt weld plates are pretty strong and won't burn through, but I put this baddie behind the patch plate and everything welded well, no holes or burns. It works great for what I need.

Pros
  • Thick copper spacer dissipates heat and won't stick to welds
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Good idea, but not for long. Broken on the 2nd hole.

It seems like a good idea but I put it on the second hole, copper stuck to the weld and I couldn't tear it off. That's the end of the tool for me. Removing ruined it. After that, I found that simply prying open the end of the copper tube and tilting it slightly at an angle worked better. I hope yours last longer than mine.

Pros
  • Spring-loaded lever makes "setting and welding" easier.
Cons
  • There are doubts

Wow! I wish I had bought this many years ago!

I don't write many reviews for Revain, but this magnetic connector is amazing. I brewed Stick, Mig and Tig for years and finally bought it because I heard it was worth it. Wow! I can't believe I haven't used this in years. The copper substrate does 3 things. First, it provides a backing material for welding holes and gaps - so much nicer that trying to weld gaps out of thin sheet metal without burning through edges and gaps. Second, the copper provides a conductive area to help ensure weld gapโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Long arm protects the magnetic base from heat damage.
Cons
  • Dear
