Review on Husky Liners 58266: Custom Front and Rear Mud Guards for 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - New Body (Black) by Ryan Morrow

Meh- Good for the money but not super impressed

One pocket was missing so a protective cover was too short. The 2021 Silverados have a slot punched into the side of the front fender for the stock half fenders. They hardly, I mean, hardly close that slit. A little coincidence would be nice. You don't get very far. One would expect truck fenders to be more honest. There are good things to note. The factory front guards have 5 brackets. 3 x Torx T15 head screws and 10mm bolts. A T-15 and 10mm on the bottom and none of them remount with these fenders. It is also important to note that there is a screw installed in the fender liner that must be removed after removing the factory fender. GM doesn't use it to protect theirs, but you need this hole to install them. The instructions don't mention it. For these you will need a ratchet with a T-15 adapter or a 1/4 bit ratchet as there is very little room to work with. Before installation, it is recommended to clean the area with alcohol, which Husky does. not provided for some reason. Cheap decals come with 10 packs but not this one. The spring clips on the back are a bit lazy. They definitely scratch the paintwork and can cause rust so I used some POR-15 after installation to prevent that. Keep in mind that they must connect to metal, but other fasteners would be a better approach. Finally, they should be 3 inches longer in the front and back. This is a perfect example of how Husky wants to be cheap but doesn't offer full fenders on a pickup truck. While fit and finish are comfortable, form and function feel immature. Not impressed at all. Even though we all pay for these trucks, those of us who take care of them want to protect them, and we just can't. But unless I want to buy $300 fenders they are all the same size between those Weathertech etc.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Possibility of renewal
