Review on Fit System 33244 Driver Side Heated Mirror Glass for Dodge Ram 1500, 2500, 3500 (No Towing Pkg, No Auto Dimming) by Scott Larson

Not quite OEM, but not bad.

Compared to a $200+ OEM replacement, this is a great deal. I had to replace the driver's side mirror on my 2011 Ram 1500 Sprt because I was hit from the side while parking in the city and I never found out who was responsible. Beautiful, isn't it? My OEM mirror had automatic dimming and heating capabilities. This mirror does NOT have an auto dimming function. It's okay, but I miss it. The mirror fits perfectly in the mirror housing. Since I couldn't use the auto-dimming wires, you just need to carefully hide them behind the inner frame of the mirror. The gap around the mirror is consistent around the entire perimeter and has a full gap left, right, top and bottom with no issues. The downside is the heat. It's not the same as OEM. During a recent ice storm, I turned on the mirrors to begin heating and melting the ice. The OEM on the passenger side fully warmed up the entire surface and melted all the ice as usual. There was no such substitute. I melted a bit, but focused more on the center than the edges. There was still ice on the mirror after it went into auto power off mode. If you're looking for a much cheaper option than an OEM replacement and don't really care about the auto dimming and heating features, this is a good buy. Hope that helps!
