This monopod is GOOD and bigger than a monopod

I photograph a lot of animals (often with a telephoto lens) and in many cases it's not practical to carry a tripod in the woods on a hike, and this monopod solves the problem in several ways. It extends and locks anywhere from its folded length of 21 inches to 72 inches (taller than a standard tripod), and this makes it much easier to use the camera's viewfinder and focus without tilting it at camera level on a standard tripod or to tend. The quick-change head fixes the camera securely in the monopod. Easy and quick to take out the monopod, extend it and fix the camera in the mount when the object you are looking at might move away.- 4-piece leg is STRONG. I can extend the sections to any length I want and the locking mechanisms are solid. At 10 ounces, it's incredibly light. AND DO IT DIFFERENTLY: Because the monopod has a soft grip and wrist strap and the leg is so strong and stiff that I can easily use the monopod as a walking stick. It doesn't need to be carried separately, even though a carry case is included. I only wish tripod and monopod designers would agree on a standard quick release head. However, the heads on both of my tripods and on this monopod are different. If they were all the same, I could switch between tripods and monopods quickly and easily. But the manufacturers have to decide that among themselves. Conclusion: I love this monopod!
