Review on Wi-Fi signal amplifier (repeater) TP-LINK RE205, white by Wiktor Sakowski ᠌

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The quality is so-so, the price does not match the quality.

If we consider this repeater only for 2.4 networks, then it is not bad. It works more or less stably, the signal really appeared where it had not been before. As a 5GHz network repeater, it works disgustingly. The network constantly disappears for no apparent reason. And the network itself remains, the phone shows a high signal level. But there is no internet. And the point here is not the router, since the devices connected directly to the router continue to work stably, and the repeater itself is in the line of sight of the router (about 15 meters). And besides, the light on the repeater and the firmware signal precisely that the repeater simply does not see the network. The firmware (web interface) is convenient and there are no problems with the basic settings. But if it comes to working on a schedule, then consider it not. First, there is no way to set the time. But even if you try to set scheduled work and night mode with the time shown by the repeater, it still does not work. More than 80% of the maximum Internet speed, this repeater is unable to issue. But it gives out a maximum if you connect a cable to it and distribute the Internet through the cable. As a result, if you need a 2.4 network and the budget is limited, you can try. There is absolutely no network for 5GHz.

Pros
  • Price Quick Setup Cable work
Cons
  • 5GHz network Scheduled work
