I am happy to report that it spent $129. To be safe, I always upgrade something on my Lexus IS - the light comes on when certain accessories are disconnected or the 12 volt power supply is lost, and the SRS and ABS can be cleared with the usual disconnect and reset of the negative terminal. The car must be given to a friendly mechanic who has a scanner that can clear these safety-related DTCs. This tool instantly recognized my Lexus and displayed all the SRS DTC information, telling me the apparent DTC that was triggered as well as its exact location in the driver's side knee area. It then gave me the option to write that data or delete the data and delete and delete the dashboard with no issues and not come back.
