Review on ✨ Sparkling Fun: Explore the Magic of Constructive Playthings 00010 Light Crystal by Michael Herrera

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Walks like a prism, talks like a prism, breaks light like a prism

I needed a basic prism for a photo experiment but when I came to Revain I found pages of negative reviews about almost all of them. I finally went with it, but now I'm convinced that any of them would have worked well. If you shine a collimated beam of full-spectrum light (sunlight works great!) at this prism, you'll see the scattering of the light at different wavelengths (rainbows). Unfortunately, due to user error, Revain is getting more and more bad reviews for products. /Ignorance. Instead of learning something, most people quickly grab their laptops and vent their frustration. Ironically, in this case the product is a learning device where user error is what the device is intended to convey. If it doesn't work, you're doing something wrong and now it's time to learn about collimation, the spectrum of light, and the angle of incidence. Yes, it's acrylic, no, it doesn't matter. The light transmission of acrylic is much higher than the inferior glass you can get for such a cheap prism. This one is palm-sized, big enough to throw out a decent jet and wide enough to be stable enough to stand upright. My only concern is that the edges are treated to prevent chipping, but that only affected the quality of my photos, not the prism function. For most users, registration is probably a good thing.[.]
