The holes in these teabags/owls are so small that the tea won't rise. I think the materials have something to do with it too, because in a mesh or stainless steel mesh product, water flows through and tea is brewed. The first few times I tried it I had dry tea leaves when I opened the owl. I have to press and press and press to get any concoction and in a hot liquid it's no fun at all. They are sweet but not suitable for making tea. For this reason I would not recommend these items.
