Lens feels good, looks good and the photos you take with it have it also this unmistakable look Fuji. until you zoom in. This is a good entry-level lens - I think it's much better quality than the kit lens that comes with an entry-level Canon DSLR. The build quality is fantastic and the image quality is at least as high, if not better, than other lenses. Lower apertures compared to other kit lenses is one of the key benefits. However, wide apertures are also very blurry in my example. It's only when you stop down to about 5.6 that you get a clear image. For quality comparable to other Fuji lenses you need f8 or f11. For my occasional landscape photography, this will work for now. But indoor family shots are best left with another lens. I tend to leave the 35mm f2 on the camera and only pull out the kit lens when I really need other focal lengths.
