We usually buy Columbia or North Face, but it's hard for growing kids to spend that kind of money on something they've outgrown in a year. Overall the coat is well tailored. Better than the returned Columbia jacket for the same price. Keeps my son warm while skiing. There are pros and cons, but overall I would buy it again. This isn't the three-piece (inner zip-off fleece jacket) that we prefer. It doesn't have a drawstring or elastic waist, a powder skirt, which is also preferable for skiing, but wearing ski suits seemed like the only downside. Everything else, hood, pockets, protection from wind and cold was excellent.
