After two full days of no change in the bourbon, I added another inch of spiral. On the fifth day there were still no noticeable changes. I then switched to the Oak Whiskey Aging Stick (by BattleGround) and noticed a definite difference/improvement within 1 day. My conclusion; This product isn't the most effective for adding oak notes, toasted flavors, or "aging" bourbon. I'll keep experimenting (maybe charring the coil before adding it to the brew will make a difference), but for now I'd recommend a different brand.
