Review on 🎨 Strathmore 400 Series Visual Watercolor Journal, 140 LB Cold Press, 5.5"x8", 22 Sheets - White by Summer Hendricks

This could be my new favorite sketchbook. As a newbie to watercolor, I am very pleased to have found a source for good quality paper that is also relatively inexpensive. I started with Canson XL but this paper really doesn't hold up to heavy washing so I decided to switch to Strathmore. This paper is very similar to the paper they use for their watercolor cards. Even if you cover this paper with water, it won't curl or bleed - it happily accepts whatever you give it. It's quite rough (much rougher than XL) and will add interesting texture to whatever you draw. The crappy little "VISUAL JOURNAL" cover shown in the picture tears off easily and you get a nice brown cover with a bubble texture. It's very durable and has taken the beatings in my backpack for the past few weeks with no issues. I don't know what else to say about this magazine other than it's great and you should buy it if you want something portable and inexpensive. and of high quality. I've attached a picture of the first thing I drew in it. Koi watercolors used: Ultramarine, Raspberry Varnish, Deep Permanent Green and Lemon Yellow. The colors are a little weird, but it still makes me happy. :) I also included the cover photo.
