Color in both sides of the page = 44 pictures!

This is my first YouTube watercolor tutorial. I'm so excited to fill it with learning attempts and see my progress as I work on the journal. Here is a photo of my first attempt at teaching. There was a lot of water in it, and almost immediately the paper began to buckle badly. This photo is after the painting has dried. Despite the warping when wet, the photo shows that the paper appears fairly flat when dry. I plan to trim the edges of the book and use less water for my next painting. (I…

Great paper quality but a little problem with the size

I wish I could give this 4.5 stars! It's better than 4 but not quite 5 for me. This is a good watercolor sketchbook. The quality of the paper itself is excellent. It is textured as it should be when cold pressed and adheres well to different types of brushes and paints. I love the thickness of this paper, which is a huge improvement over the "mix media" sketchbook I used before. My biggest complaint is that the page size given is very literal. This is the corner-to-corner size of the paper in…

Pros
  • Suitable for acrylic, pen and ink, pencil and marker
Cons
  • Little things

I LOVE THIS MAGAZINE! <3

This could be my new favorite sketchbook. As a newbie to watercolor, I am very pleased to have found a source for good quality paper that is also relatively inexpensive. I started with Canson XL but this paper really doesn't hold up to heavy washing so I decided to switch to Strathmore. This paper is very similar to the paper they use for their watercolor cards. Even if you cover this paper with water, it won't curl or bleed - it happily accepts whatever you give it. It's quite rough (much…

Pros
  • Great for watercolors and collages

  • Expensive

Structured paper for zentang or watercolor, usable on both sides.

This is a heavy weight paper that can be used for zentangle or zentangle with markers or for watercolors. I used both sides for watercolor and used it as a journal for my outdoor sketches and it works very well for that purpose. The paper is lightly textured and holds ink well. I can rub the brush with a small amount of paint and it doesn't spread too much, allowing me to quickly sketch with strokes and more transparent washes. Dries pretty quickly too. I've done a few washes and it hasn't…

Pros
  • Cold-pressed wired magazine; 22 sheets
Cons
  • Can't remember
