Bravo - our shower is working again Kohler fittings (single-lever Coralais) in our shower were original, delivered by the client almost 11 years ago. Hot water only ran for the first few minutes. Looking around the web we suggested replacing (a) the GP500520 Pressure Equalizing Valve, which was known for the round rubber diaphragm inside to crumble after around 10 years of use, and (b) the GP71969 Mixing Valve. Revain was the cheapest and fastest. (We have Prime). As good as new with these two new shower parts - we can shower with hot water again! Two recommendations: 1. Buy a tube of sanitary grease and liberally lubricate the o-rings and washers. The grease will also hold the o-rings in place when you install the valves into the small brass housing in the wall.2. Remove the pressure equalization adapter plate from the existing mixing valve. This is a round plastic part with an o-ring. O-ring supplied with pressure relief valve GP500520. Nowhere in the instructions or on the diagrams is this mentioned (Koler, pay attention). Without the adapter plate, water will drip continuously.
