Review on Sparkle and Shine with Sure-Grip Stardust Glitter Roller Skate by Darren Neal

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Sooo cute but super hard! Until they get hard!

SHINE REAL. Seriously, they are so amazingly shiny (I bought the gold ones) and look amazing with the black wheels. Bearings are good too. I may need more time to break them in, but the boots are VERY stiff. When I first started skating, I got a very bad blister on the inside of my ankle, but I was also careful not to wear thicker socks. In the upper part of the boot at the back you can use extra padding - it cuts into the back of the leg quite a bit. But they are so darn cute that I really hope they stick around for more! I'm also spoiled and used to suede boots with elasticated backs (à la Moxis), so maybe I just need to get used to the stiffer boots a little more. I bet this would be great to learn because you would immediately learn not to rely on ankle flex when skating. I hope I can carry my stars when I break them. They are too beautiful not to use! *** UPDATE: If you flatten and flex your ankles and upper in your hands and cushion your ankles the first few times, they are very cool skates indeed! Unfortunately the wheels are not very good. But with castings, better wheels, bearings and laces, they've become my new favorite skates. SHORT STORIES, they are worth their money.
