This is a great place to breed caterpillars into butterflies

This is a great place to breed caterpillars into butterflies. Larger and lighter than a regular terrarium and allows you to easily see from different angles (especially the transparent plastic side). We just had 22 monarch caterpillars producing their pupae and it was easy to observe in this habitat. I'll probably buy another one as 22 butterflies will probably be too many for one (we want to give them enough room to fly around a bit before finally releasing them). The habitat floor is also covered with netting, so you'll need to lay out some newspaper or paper towels to wipe all the dirt off the caterpillars. Because the bottom is flexible, you'll need to support something heavy (a potted plant, etc.) from below when carrying it. As there is a zipper on one side, be careful when opening/zipping as sometimes the zipper can just be a caterpillar. The net also comes in handy if you have a doll that falls off - take some dental floss and then carefully tie a knot around the doll's "stem" (the end of the stem furthest from the doll, not too close as it might tear the doll). Thread each end of the floss through the mesh on the habitat's "roof" (I used a threading needle) and secure.
