Review on Continental PremiumContact 6 225/55 R17 97 year old by Micha Osiski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I am amazed at how well the product is made, just magically!

Size 205/55R16 91V for the tires. Don't buy these tires unless you've read the reviews first. Here is my take on the criticisms leveled by several reviewers: In terms of noise, I can confirm that the PC6 tires are nearly silent on smooth pavement and do not produce any more noise than other tires with a similar speed index, making them noticeably quieter than my previous set of PremiumContact 5 tires. Those who worry about the tire's thin sidewalls should keep their eyes on the road rather than trying to avoid obstacles by hopping over them. The same "opera"'s worth of punctures. Only the solid tires seen on specialized machinery are impervious to cuts and punctures. Tires rated for greater loads feature a more robust carcass and thicker sidewalls, providing a little extra protection. Third, hydroplaning: driving on a wet surface at high speed, since no tire is designed to float. Hydroplaning happens at 70–75 km/h in a puddle just a few centimeters deep, while the best summer tires with a directed tread pattern "float" at 80 km/h. A disadvantage is the stones the tire picks up and sends into the wheel arches, but seen in a different light, this is evidence of good tire grip and self-cleaning. Stones don't get stuck in the PC6's tread like they did in the tires I was using before, so there's no need to listen to the "clatter" while driving on gravel. Other tires are required for use on gravel and dirt roads. PremiumContact 6 tires are great for everyday driving on typical roads. When driving at non-penalty speeds (i.e., not "racer" speeds), the tires provide excellent grip in both dry and wet conditions. It's easy to feel when the steering wheel is set to zero, the tires don't slide around bends, acceleration and braking are superior to those of most other tires of a similar size, and the tire rides road bumps rather smoothly. And if this isn't the case, you should take the automobile in for service and get it in working order instead of pointing fingers at the tires. Therefore, if you have the means to do so and are not wedded to a certain brand or type of tires, you can take PremiumContact 6 without fear of making a mistake.

Pros
  • Controllability. The pinnacle of road grip. Quiet.
Cons
  • Couldn't locate it.
