I make and sell knitted hats and need a pompom machine because pompoms are very trendy right now. This one is made in China but looks the same as the more expensive brand from the US. It's made of durable plastic and unlike some other reviews, I didn't have a problem with it falling apart on me. The instructions on the back of the box are very unclear. I had to watch youtube videos on how to use this thing but after making a few I got the hang of it and it was very easy. I learned how to make a good full pom pom, I really had to wind the yarn - I counted 125 turns on each side - try to get an even wrap so your pom pom will be an even ball when you're done. I am very happy.
