Review on Motorcycle Waterproof Speaker Amplifier System by Raden Maldonado

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worth the money Good for cars and automotive electronics

I looked at many similar speakers before buying. I previously purchased Kuryakyn Sounds of Chrome. Although they looked very nice, I sent them back as they weren't loud enough. As other reviewers of these speakers point out, the instructions aren't the best in the world. However, after spending some time and reading the instructions (more than once), these speakers can be installed by anyone with modest electronics experience. I haven't installed the speakers yet (waiting for warmer weather to remove the fuel tank and route the wires properly), but I followed the install instructions, hooked them up to my Harley Fat Bob, and played around with the bike. The noise is quite loud even when the engine is running. I didn't notice the tremendous lack of bass, as other reviewers have pointed out. At maximum volume, the sound is a bit distorted, but I guess that's to be expected. Finally, bar mounts do not fit 1 1/4" bars. The instructions state that fact, but I didn't see it in my research. Kuryakin makes mounts for 1 1/4" bars. They look very nice and are of a much better quality than the bracket that comes with the speakers. The way I see it at the moment, they are worth their money. Update March 16, 2012: Okay, I installed the system yesterday and I have to say it sounds great! Very loud and clear. Again, given the size and nature of the speakers, I didn't notice a lack of bass. Sure, they don't have that much bass, but neither should they. I didn't notice any problems with the volume control either, mine works fine. The system also sounds great at high speeds. ONE NEGATIVE: The USB charger only worked for about 5 minutes and then stopped. I checked the wiring, everything seems fine. Took it off and threw it in the trash. Given the price, I will not change the system as a whole. I just hope the amp and speakers last longer than the charger!
