I bought 2 Welcam dashcams and didn't want to mount them directly to my car's windshield using the self-adhesive mounting plates that came with them. These rear view mirror mounting kits seemed like a good alternative to this one and they came with some minor modifications. These mounting kits claim to be universal but you will need to modify them to work with the Welcam DVR mounts. I chose the largest work stand that came with the mirror. I cut off the protrusions from it and glued it to the self-adhesive mounting plate that came with the DVR (see photo). I carefully centered and traced the outline of the mirror stack on the red tape on the DVR platter and cut it out with a razor knife. This will prevent your fingers from getting stuck on the adhesive on the dash cam plate if you ever need to adjust, move or remove it from the vehicle. Then I carefully attached the mirror kit stand to the DVR mounting plate with self-adhesive backing. After that, installation was easy. The cameras could be aimed where they should be and easily moved, removed and remounted if needed. If you bought a Welcam DVR with this kit and are trying to figure out how it all works, don't worry. This kit works great if you follow the instructions listed above.
