Works great as one side of a DIY battery.
Purchased to teach a group of middle school children how electricity works and how they can use common objects to create an electrical charge. Using things like distilled water with salt, baking soda, vinegar and other items, we used a copper strip as one of the electrodes to get a large enough charge to light up a couple of LEDs.
