For the price these are perfect. The colors are really bright and the pencils function great. Each pencil only comes with two lead inserts (one in the end and one spare) so you may want to get some extra leads. However, mechanical pencils don't typically have a long shelf life with young students (lost, broken, chewed on, etc.) so two will be more than enough in most cases. The eraser appears to be latex based and they function great, no smearing and no tearing the paper. They are of typical size, so again, if you plan on having them around for a long time you will need to get some replacements or alternatives for when the supplied eraser wears out. The pencils are made of a semi-flexible medium hard plastic that most other brands are made of.
