Review on Enhance Your Backyard with the Perky-Pet FF10 10-Inch Metal Finch Feeder by Amanda Thibault

We bought 4 of these feeders. The socks work great, attracting lost finches but are easily torn by squirrels and other wild things. So we tried these. After hanging them up I thought I'd check out the reviews on here after the fact. I saw a very mixed experience and worried if we made a mistake. A day passed before the birds realized what these feeding places were. But then the frenzy began. We put wooden sticks in some holes to make perches. This home improvement appeared to increase the diversity of finches that can forage. We are in a camp that loves these feeders. For those with bad experiences, I'm wondering if the seed they're using isn't too big? Or if the bird species are different? But with the multitude of finches here in New England using small thistle seeds, we're happy as larks.
