could have been used in place of 1151. Also seems brighter. Love the fact that for the price of 2 bulbs at Walmart you get 10 a pack. I bought 2 packs at this price. Having spare parts and not having to run to Walmart or auto repair shops saves a lot of time. I haven't tried using them to replace 1003 lightbulbs, but I will soon. I have 1003 on my wayward side of the van. While not as important as my front door, I'd happily replace it just like that.
