The rug looks beautiful upon receipt and is incredibly soft. I've had a lot of snags and loose yarn that I've had to trim over the past few weeks after laying it on the floor and using it outside the door. I haven't noticed any bare spots from cutting loose or tangled pieces of thread, but that may change over time. Seems to suck up dirt, mud and water fairly well, my dogs don't stand on it and let it all suck up before moving on so I still have paw prints on the floor but for people in shoes it did a good job of making sure that most of the water is removed. Haven't washed the carpet yet but will try to vacuum it. In addition to trying to eat my Dyson, I use a hand tool to vacuum it and find the carpet to be so plush that it just picks up dirt well, even with multiple passes. I have found that shaking out the carpet works much better.
