Review on 🚧 Enhanced Safety Beams for Genie STB-BL Replacements by Damon Murray

Ordered these sensors but received a different model, GSTB - BX. I believe this is a newer sensor and it worked fine. However, I paid for the much more expensive STB-BL sensors, so I am contacting the seller to request a refund. After installing these new sensors, I took apart the old sensors and realized there might be a way to fix them. Both the transmit and receive sensors have a lens and you can easily clean the outside of the lens without removing the sensor part. However, the inside of the lens can get very dirty and the only way to clean it is to disassemble the sensor. My sensors have been working great for years, but recently they have failed in direct sunlight, which has never happened before. I cleaned the outside of the lenses but that didn't work so I installed new sensors. After installing the new sensors and getting curious about the old ones, I took them apart and noticed how dirty the inside of the lens was. If your garage door sensors work in direct sunlight, you can take them apart and clean both the inside and outside of the lens to see if that helps.
