Ordered this after being frustrated with the papers you could buy at your local hardware store. The grit is denser than traditional sandpaper, giving it excellent resistance to woods such as basswood, elm, maple, birch and ash. The only downside is that paper tends to be brittle, as at least some others have pointed out. It tends to crack and fall apart before the sand wears out. However, it's better than anything I've tried just before sandpaper. The tendency to crack is the only reason I didn't give it five stars. Note: I haven't tried this on sanding blocks as I sanded the wrong parts, but cracking could potentially be an issue. I haven't tried it for wet grinding either.
